Dear Alumni,
You've been there.
The long hours, sleepless nights and groggy days that come with crafting an issue
of The Daily Free Press.
Commonwealth Avenue may look different. There may be a new chief on Sherborn Street
-- or, as it's now known, Silber Way. The newsroom may now make its home in Kenmore
Square.
But the paper you knew -- the product of a scrappy, devoted family of student
volunteers -- is essentially the same. And today's family is still your family,
too.
That's why we're so excited to get alumni on board. Your involvement will bring
a new, sorely needed depth to The Daily Free Press community, building a network
of diverse graduates who will prove an invaluable resource for us and for you.
This semester, we'll be covering a new generation of leadership on campus -- including
at the College of Communication -- the skyrocketing cost of tuition in a challenging
economy and a presidential election that has proven as divisive on campus as it
has across America. We hope to hear from you along the way.
As The Daily Free Press enters its 38th year of publication, we recognize that
it's as crucial to remember the groundwork laid by our predecessors as it is to
prepare for the future. Freep alumni will always have a home in our newsroom.
We look forward to a successful partnership.
Best,
Drew Fitzgerald
